Bio


Hailing from Madrid, Rafa Santos has been part of the music industry since 1997 spreading House and Electronic music in all their forms.

Influenced by Jazz, Soul and R&B sounds, vinyl lover and great selector, his musical style is drawn with strokes from Chicago and Detroit full of hypnotic chords and loads of groove.

Rafa has been Resident Dj at the emblematic “Café Oliver” from 2002 to 2008, as well as at the last season of "Deep", one of the most emblematic parties in Madrid.

He has also played regularly at "Replay Sunset Parties", "Sonar + D", "Pacha", "Kapital", "Goya Social Club", "Marula Cafe", "Stella", "Coppellia", "Pasapoga", "Studio 76", "Empire", "Evaristo", "Siroco", "Nubel", "Sagan", "Comba", "Hotel Me", "Club Matador", "Taboo", "Café de La Palma", "Terraza Atenas" in Madrid, "Tentacle Summer Fest" in Lugo, "Café del Mar" in Tarifa, "Ku" in Alicante ….just to mention a few.

In the beginning of his career he created GREAT PLANlabel focused on House, Deep-House and Nu-Disco with releases from Pete Herbert, OOFT!, Marcin Czubala, Tiger Stripes, Michelle Owen…/

Nowadays, Rafa Santos is the CEO and A&R of MATE, a vinyl House and Deep-house music label focused in classic and underground vibes, Currently the most active and important national ambassador of house music outside our boarders . It holds artists such as Javonntte, Vick Lavender, Reggie Dokes, Gari Romalis, Shaka, Garrett David, Nico Lahs, Jesús Gonsev, The Blaxploited Orchestra, Manuel Costela, Rafa Santos....etc. Its latest references have had the likes from Kai Alce, Dam Swindle, Mike Grant, Fred P, Glenn Underground, Stefan Ringer, Carl Craig, Jimpster, Lod Goddard, Laurent Garnier…..and many more.

He has made music compilations for diferents hotels, restaurants and clubs in Madrid such as "Urban", "Ene", "Hand Made"... and worked as a dj for important brands like "Coke", "Ron Barcelo", "Moet Chandon", "Veuve Cliquot", "Kenzo"….

As an Audio Engineer, he works as Electronic Music Production teacher and coordinator at the prestigious Sae Institute Madrid.
